Chapter 500
Greta stood there, staring at the broken toy on the floor, an unexpected wave of relief washing over her. She reassured herself, "It's better this way. You won't have to chase after her anymore. Cameron, can't you see? This is fate stepping in." But instead of understanding, Cameron hit her with a brutal slap. The blow was so forceful, it sent Greta reeling like a butterfly caught in a storm, crashing back to the ground.
Blood spilled from her mouth, and she looked up at Cameron, her eyes wide with disbelief. "You hit me? For someone else? Cameron, I'm your wife. How could you do this?"
Cameron was initially shocked, almost as if he couldn't believe he'd let himself stoop so low. Yet, his remorse was fleeting. With a dismissive snort, he stormed off, leaving Greta alone with her pain.
Greta gingerly touched her swollen cheek, but the sting on her skin was nothing compared to the ache in her heart. The love they once had soured into bitter resentment. She buried her face in her hands, tears flowing freely. Cameron marched back to the bedroom, slamming the door with a deafening bang. He collapsed onto the bed, hands tangling in his hair, frustration boiling over.
He had wanted to make amends with Nina, but Greta had ruined it. Was she destined to be a thorn in Nina's side? He couldn't let this happen again. Determined to end the cycle, Cameron decided it was time to cut ties with Greta for good. He sat at his computer, drafting a divorce agreement. He listed his assets, ensuring Greta would be financially secure. The division was complete.
The next morning, before heading
out, Cameron left the divorce papers
on the coffee table. When Greta came down for breakfast and sav them, a mix of shame and fury washed over her. Without reading them, she tore the papers to pieces.
The thought of losing Cameron terrified her, she feared she'd wither away without him. But Greta refused to be a vietim. She vowed to fight back, to wreck Cameron's flings. She wouldn't just sit and wait to be discarded like Nellie.
An idea sparked. She rushed to the trash can, retrieving the gift box from the night before. It was from Cameron, addressed to "Dear Nina."
Assuming Nina was some shameless homewrecker, Greta's anger boiled over. "Nina, I'll expose you and bring you down," she vowed.noveldrama
In moments of crisis, Greta transformed, driven by fierce determination. Ignoring her own frailty, she bought a high-def camera and secretly installed it in Cameron's car.
Before long, she discovered Cameron wasn't staying late at the office but was often parked near a swanky neighborhood.
Fueled by rage, Greta stormed into the upscale area one morning. Through the fancy gate, she spotted rabbit-shaped lights and figures like the ones Cameron had brought home, confirming her suspicions. Her fury burned brighter.
"You homewrecker, come out here!" she shouted, pounding on the door. "How dare you seduce my Cameron? Have you no shame?"
