Chapter 356
Matthew had little respect for heirs who relied on their parents' legacy to achieve success.
Among the heirs he knew, only a handful spoke and acted with decorum. The rest were insufferably arrogant. Hence, he had no desire to speak with them.
When Isaac saw Rachel, his face lit up. Although they had met a couple times before, he was still blown away by how stunning she was.
Rachel's face was exquisitely beautiful, with a cold, aloof expression. Her noble and elegant demeanor set her apart from others. Her full chest, slender waist, and curvaceous figure made her even more captivating.
That day, she seemed slightly different from her cold self before. There seemed to be a faint smile on her face, like a delicate flower blooming in the snow, making her even more enchanting.
Just one look at her made Isaac's heart race. She was simply breathtaking.
Smiling, he stood up and stepped forward to shake her hand. "Welcome, Ms. Carter. It's an honor to have you here."
Rachel was especially cautious when shaking his hand, only offering a few fingers for the handshake. "Sorry for keeping you waiting."
Isaac smiled and gestured toward the seating area. "Please, have a seat, and we can chat leisurely."
Rachel wanted to introduce Matthew, but seeing that Isaac had already invited them to sit, she decided against it and walked toward the table.
As she approached, she realized there were only two chairs-one was for Isaac, leaving only one empty.
But there were two of them-herself and Matthew. How could they both sit?
Isaac waved dismissively at the server. "You may leave. We won't be needing you here anymore."
The server acknowledged and quickly left.
Isaac was about to ask Rachel to sit when he suddenly noticed Matthew beside her. He waved him off as well, saying, "You may leave too. There's nothing for you to do here." Rachel frowned and said, "He's here with me to discuss the cooperation."
She hadn't clarified Matthew's identity since she was here for a business meeting, and it would seem unprofessional to mention that she brought along her fiancé. So, she just said that he was here to discuss the cooperation.
Isaac noticed Rachel's displeasure and smiled. "Ms. Carter, today's discussion is just between you and me. Everyone else needs to leave. What's the matter? You don'Dwant to work with me?"
Rachel picked up on the underlying meaning behind Isaac's words and felt that he was being too forward, especially in front of Matthew.
Her expression grew colder. "Mr. Wood, I've already told you that I'm engaged."
Isaac was taken aback, then
Kn
suddenly burst into laughter. "I know you're engaged. It's no big deal; just call it off. If you come with me,↓ guarantee your business in the medical industry will grow tenfold."
Rachel glanced at Matthew beside her, worried that he might be upset. Fortunately, Matthew remained calm, his face showing no sign of emotion.
She felt that it was important to draw a clear line with Isaac. "This isn't about business. I have a great relationship with my fiancé, and I won't call off the engagement."
Isaac was taken aback, then his
expression turned serious. "You
don't want to call off the
engagement? What? Are you too embarrassed to say so? How about this tell me his name and where he's from, and I'll inform him to break off the engagement." noveldrama
Inform?
This was the first time Rachel had encountered someone so arrogant. His tone suggested that a simple word from him would force Matthew to comply. Who did he think he was?
Just as she was about to respond, Matthew spoke up, "I'm Rachel's fiancé!"
What do you think?
