Chapter 2420
Chapter 2420
"Ms. Amaryllis, we've searched everywhere. There's nothing here." One of the men reported.
Clarice's brows furrowed in irritation. "Impossible! Where's her phone?"
"No phone was found."
This time, Clarice could not care less about appearances. She stormed forward, crouching down to grab Yvonne by the hair, forcing the battered woman to meet her gaze.
"Bitch! You must have been looking for something if you're in Pivotage in the dead of night. What did you find? Hand it over, and I might spare your miserable life!"
Yvonne spat blood and saliva directly into Clarice's face.
"You bitch!" Clarice's eyes burned with rage, and she slapped Yvonne twice.
Her hand stinging from the impact but still unsatisfied, she screamed, "Take her away!"
Two men hurried forward, dragging Yvonne's limp, bloodied body.
Clarice wiped the blood and spit from her face, her eyes bloodshot with fury. "Keep searching! Track every step she took to get here. I want every inch of the path searched!"
Justin took the wheel himself, speeding toward Bella with reckless urgency.
Outside what was once their love nest, Bella stood silently in the biting cold. Snow fell, accumulating on her slim figure.
Unable to bear the sight, Wilma held an umbrella over her to shield her from the falling snow.
To the world, Bella seemed to possess everything. Yet, Wilma only saw the loneliness in her eyes. 'Young Master Justin, when will you wake up? How could you let such a good woman slip away?'
A sleek black Maybach skidded to a dramatic stop before the villa, scattering snow in its wake.
Justin stepped out of the car, and he quickly strode toward Bella with determined steps. Behind him, Ian stumbled out of the car, barely walking a few steps before doubling over and retching. Clearly, Justin's driving had been too much for him.
"Young Master Justin! You're finally here!" Wilma's voice trembled, a mix of relief and reproach in her eyes as she looked at him.
Bella exhaled softly, her breath visible in the frigid air. She gazed into Justin's deep black eyes, her lips trembling as if to speak but no words came.
Once, she had no reservations about making demands, throwing tantrums, or teasing him playfully. But now, all of that seemed to be privileges she had lost.
She hesitated, holding back.
"Why are you standing outside in this weather?" Justin asked, his voice low and steady, his piercing gaze meeting her reddened eyes.
Bella's voice was hoarse and faint. "I was waiting for you."
Something tightened in Justin's chest. His fingers curled slightly. "Let's talk inside."
"No," she said, shaking her head. "There's no time. We need to find Yvonne immediately... She might be in danger!"
Recalling the sound that had jolted her earlier -a loud gunshot-Bella's composure began to crumble.
Tears brimmed in her eyes as she said, "I think I heard gunshots... I heard them! Yvonne's phone is unreachable. What if she's been shot? What if something's already happened to her?!"
"Bella, don't scare yourself. You're always optimistic. Don't let your imagination run wild," Justin said, his rigid stance betraying the restraint he exerted to suppress his emotions.
"If something happens to Yvonne, Drew will be ruined!" Bella's voice cracked as she thought of her brother, who had only recently found happiness. The tears she had held back began to fall, streaming down her face as she sobbed openly in front of him.
"Yvonne can't get hurt... She just can't!"
Before she could finish, Bella felt the world spin and her body limp as she collapsed to the ground.
Bella was overworked and exhausted. Consumed by responsibilities at KS Group and desperately trying to help Justin, she had not slept in days, and her strength had finally given out.
Wilma panicked, but Justin reacted swiftly.
His arm shot out, catching Bella's waist and pulling her into his embrace. Without hesitation, he opened his coat, wrapping her in its warmth to shield her from the snow and cold.
The gesture was instinctive, etched into his very being.
No matter how much poison life fed him, his habit of protecting her was unshakeable.
"What's wrong?" Justin asked, concern heavy in his tone.
The fragile woman in his arms did not reply, only sobbing softly against him.
"Bella, stop crying. If you don't, I'll leave right now. I won't care anymore," Justin warned, noveldrama
his voice firm yet tinged with helplessness.
But Bella only cried harder, her tears soaking through his crisp shirt.
Justin's brows furrowed deeply. He let out a quiet sigh, his calloused hand resting gently on her trembling back.
In truth, he could not stand seeing her cry.
Every drop of tear she shed pierced his heart.
