Remarriage You 485

Chapter 485 Up To No Good

Glancing at the time, Lenora said, "You two should head back. Soph will be home soon."

"Why do we have to leave just because she's returning?" Zachary asked.

"Exactly!" Harrietta chimed in.

"If she sees you guys here, I'm going to suffer."

Harrietta pursed her lips. "Does Ms. Tortell not like me anymore?"

"That's not it. She doesn't like your father."

Sophia's affection for Harrietta was grounded in reason. She was fond of the little girl, yet she constantly reminded herself that the child was the offspring of Isla and Zachary.

"Uncle Zachary, why don't you head back yourself?" Harrietta didn't want to leave.

She longed for the days when she could stay or sleep next to Lenora if she wanted to.

Zachary lifted her and said, "No. If you stay here alone, you'll cause trouble for Lenora. We need to leave together."

"Hmph!"

Harrietta had no choice but to lean on Zachary's shoulder and wave at Lenora, saying, "Aunt Lenora, goodbye." "Goodbye."

No sooner had the two left than Sophia returned, luggage in tow.

Lenora was supposed to pick her up from the airport. However, since she was pregnant, she avoided driving herself and hired a driver instead. The driver had taken her to the shoot that had taken place a couple of days ago.

This time around, it was the driver who picked up Sophia from the airport.

""You're back!"

"Yes." Sophia carried her suitcase to her own room.

Lenora raised an eyebrow, suddenly finding Sophia to be a bit odd that day. Usually, she would shove her suitcase into the corner, sprawl out on the couch, and start venting about her business trip. Why has she gone straight into the bedroom? Lenora got up and walked over, lightly knocking on the bedroom door. "Soph? Are you all right?"

"I'm fine." Sophia's voice echoed within the room.

"May I come in?"

"Come in."

Lenora pushed the door open and immediately noticed a suitcase propped up in the corner of the room. She was sprawled out on the bed, looking boneless and completely relaxed. She glanced up at Lenora and continued to lay there. "Flying is so exhausting." "I was worried something had happened to you. If you're tired, just rest. I'll go make dinner."

"All right."

While Lenora was bustling about in the kitchen, Sophia came in with a kettle. She washed it out and then left.

In less than two minutes, she came in and picked up a cup.

A minute later, she came back in, searching for coffee beans in the cabinet.

"Don't you dislike drinking coffee?" Lenora couldn't help but ask.

"I'm suddenly feeling the urge to drink."

"Soph, you seem off today. Did something happen during your business trip?" Lenora asked with concern.

Sophia hesitated for a moment before she said in a conflicted tone, "When I was away on the business trip, Zephyr came to see me."

Lenora was slightly stunned. "Is he back in the country? Has he been bothering you again?"

"Yes..."

"He's still up to no good and trying to juggle three relationships at once! Does he often bother you?"

Sophia shifted the topic and said, "He mentioned that Isla is Matthew's niece, and he only regards her as a sister. As for Alice, he showed me the surveillance footage. It was Alice who embraced him, and he immediately pushed her away." Lenora's eyes widened in disbelief as she looked at Sophia. She circled around Sophia three times, scrutinizing her from top to bottom, back and forth.

"What are you doing?" Sophia asked, puzzled by her unusual behavior.

"Soph, you've become a hopeless romantic like me, haven't you?"

Sophia was rendered speechless.

"Go on," Lenora said.

"He told me that he could infiltrate Tortell Fashion and win over the senior executives on my behalf. When my younger half-brother joins the company, he'll ensure that my half-brother will be unable to make any headway, forcing my dad to hand over the corporation to me."

Upon hearing that, Lenora pondered carefully before asking, "What are the conditions?"

"The condition is that we have to enter into a contract marriage."

Lenora raised an eyebrow, looking at Sophia. "Are you tempted?"

Sophia moved behind Lenora, wrapping her arms around her. She rested her chin on Lenora's shoulder and murmured, "I believe there's a certain feasibility to it. What do you think?"

Lenora rubbed her chin thoughtfully. "The law doesn't recognize contract marriages. Given his connection with Matthew, it would be easy for him to tear up the agreement and turn the charade into reality when the time comes." Zephyr was truly quite clever.

He probably genuinely wanted to help Sophia, but Sophia would also have to commit to being with him for several years.

The two of them had a history

together. Zephyr did not lack in looks or abilities. Having lived under the same roof for a long time, it was predictable that the burning passion would rekindle a relationship. If that were to happen, even what was once pretend could turn into reality.

However, once Sophia had expressed her intentions, Lenora didn't try to dissuade her. Instead, she started brainstorming ways to help her. "What should we do?"

"If you're considering it, why not go all the way and get a fake marriage certificate? You can fool your dad and the outsiders. Let Zephyr join the company as your husband, After that, you two can sign a contract concerning the property and the company. For the specifies, you should consult a lawyer."

"All right." Sophia planted a kiss on Lenora's face with a soft smacking sound. "Nora, I love you so much!"

The following Monday, Zachary came to take Lenora for her prenatal checkup at the hospital.

After Lenora descended the stairs, she saw Zachary standing by the car.

Upon seeing Lenora approach, Zachary opened the rear car door and helped her in. "Be careful."

After she got into the car, Zachary walked around to the other side to get into the car. After that, he fastened her seatbelt for her.

Lenora wanted to say there was no need for it. She looked at Zachary, about to speak, but then closed her mouth again.

As if he could discern her thoughts, Zachary said, "It's better to be safe than sorry."

After he spoke, he embraced Lenora like a large teddy bear, closing his eyes. A content smile unknowingly curved at the corners of his lips. "Nora, I'm so happy," he said.

"Hmm?"

"We're going to have our own child. I'm so happy. Thank you, Nora."

Unconsciously, he emphasized the fact that they were going to have their own child.

Although he already had a daughter, Harrietta, and had promised Matthew that he would treat any child he had with Lenora equally, he knew deep down that things wouldn't be the same.

He was very fond of Harrietta, who was smart and adorable. However, upon learning that she was his biological daughter, he was nothing but astonished.

Upon learning about her origins, the young girl seemed utterly lost, a sight that deeply moved him. He felt a mix of emotions. Sympathy, affection, and love were in the mix, but joy was the least of them all.

As for his child with Lenora, even though the baby hadn't been born yet, the moment he found out she was pregnant, his heart was already overflowing with a tumultuous wave of excitement and joy.

He simply couldn't let his elation show too clearly in front of Harrietta for fear of hurting her feelings. Only in the presence of Lenora could he fully express this joy.

Lenora understood his unspoken intentions.

The beloved Harrietta, who they both once cherished, had surprisingly become a topic they dared not mention then.

"Hattie is a charming and intelligent child. She's truly wonderful..." Lenora said softly.

"I know."noveldrama

His affection for Harrietta had never changed. Otherwise, there wouldn't have been that equity transfer agreement. However, his relationship with her was different. He simply looked forward to having his child with Lenora more. "Give me some space," Lenora said, a hint of a smile playing on her lips as she gently pushed him away. "It's too hot. It's uncomfortable."

"All right."
