Chapter 460 Helping You Relax

As she spoke, she cautiously turned to glance at the side. Harrietta was sound asleep, her eyes closed and unaware of what was happening. Still, they were so close, and there was a real risk they might startle her awake. Lenora didn't want her to witness any intimate scenes.

Zachary remained silent, his breath warm against her cool neck, sending a shiver through her body.

He pressed his lips to her earlobe, sucking gently but fiercely, causing a surge of tingling heat to course through her.

Lenora's body responded with a subtle shudder, her toes curling involuntarily as she instinctively recoiled, her neck instinctively shrinking away from the sensation.

She quickly grabbed Zachary's hand. "What... are you doing?"

Zachary leaned in close, his warm breath brushing over her ear as he whispered, "I'm just helping you relax."

"Don't..."

"Once you're relaxed, I'll go to sleep."

Lenora bit her lip and said after a moment of silence, "No... Zachary, don't. Hattie is right here..."

Everything happened so quickly that Lenora's body tensed in sudden shock. Her eyes, unfocused, remained fixed on the ceiling as her breath came in shallow, rapid bursts. Zachary softly kissed her cheek before reaching for a wet wipe, gently cleaning her up. Quietly and carefully, he eased himself off her and settled on the other side of the large bed. "Let's sleep," he said.

Lenora was speechless.

Drowsiness quickly washed over Lenora, and before she knew it, she had slipped into a deep, peaceful slumber.

As Zachary headed to the airport to pick up Lenora, Isla also arrived at Jacaster International Airport.

When she reached the arrival gate, she instantly noticed a familiar figure. He stood tall and well-proportioned, his posture almost mannequin-like, effortlessly drawing attention. His presence was so striking amidst the crowd that it was impossible to miss him. Delighted, Isla wanted to greet him, but then another figure appeared from behind him. Isla froze, her expression darkening instantly. Her hands, once relaxed at her sides, slowly clenched into fists.

She recalled that a few days earlier, the person in charge at Fairlake had informed her that Lenora had discovered the truth behind their collaboration. After hiring a lawyer and filing a lawsuit, Lenora had returned to her home country.

What are they doing? They can't even handle such a simple task!

Isla watched as Lenora silently tiptoed toward Zachary. Just a few steps away, her phone suddenly rang. By the time she managed to silence it, Zachary had already noticed her presence.

Isla's eyes were locked on the scene before her. She saw Zachary effortlessly take one of Lenora's suitcases with one hand, while his other hand naturally clasped hers. They walked away together, chatting and laughing, completely at ease with one another. The sight struck Isla like a sharp pain. Her heart felt weighed down, as if flooded with seawater, a mix of sourness and bitterness spreading through her chest, making her feel suffocated.

It turns out he has such a gentle, loving side to him, too. Yet, whenever he looks at me, his eyes are always filled with indifference. What makes me so inferior to Fay? Why won't he even spare me a single glance?

"Isla?" Alice stepped out of the arrival gate, scanning the area. She soon spotted Isla a little way off, seemingly lost in thought as she stared at something in the distance. Pulling her suitcase behind her, Alice made her way over. "Isla?" she called again. "Hmm?" Isla snapped back to reality, turning to see Alice standing beside her. She forced a small smile. "You're here. Let's go."

"What were you looking at just now?" Alice, walking alongside Isla, asked, "You look distracted."

Isla lowered her gaze, a flicker of jealousy and bitterness flashing in her eyes. She gritted her teeth and said, "Fay's back in the country. I just saw Zachary picking her up."

Alice paused for a moment before offering a reassuring laugh. "Let her have her moment of triumph. Once you expose her true nature in front of Charlton, he'll surely break up with her!"

Isla's restlessness grew, her impatience nearly consuming her. But Tamara's words echoed in her mind, a cautionary reminder that something crucial was still in the works. She had been warned not to act recklessly just yet.

"Wow, a Maserati! Isla, your uncle really spoils you!" Alice exclaimed.

Isla simply smiled, saying nothing. While her relationship with Matthew was somewhat distant, he never failed to indulge her when it came to material things.

As the car drove through the city, Alice gazed out at the retreating skyline, her voice filled with wonder. "So this is Jacaster. It's nothing like I imagined."

Alice had immigrated to Fairlake

with her parents when she was just a child. Her roots were in the North, and though she had returned to the country a few times as an adult, she had never visited Jacaster. The place intrigued her, sparking her curiosity.

Isla smiled and said, “Jacaster really is a wonderful place. Tomorrow, I'll show you around properly. In the afternoon, we'll go pick up Zephyr."

"Sounds great." At the mention of Zephyr, a spark of excitement lit up Alice's eyes.

Two days ago, Isla had contacted her, mentioning that Caesare was planning to return to Jacaster and might stay for an extended period. She had asked if Alice wanted to come over.

After giving it much thought and discussing it with her parents, Alice had decided to board the plane to Jacaster. However, as she thought of something, her gaze darkened once more. Caesar arrived in Jacaster the day after Fay returned. He must've followed her back. Is he really that fond of her?

"Alice, what's the matter? Are you not happy that Zephyr's coming?" asked Isla.

Alice snapped back to reality, forcing a bitter smile as she voiced her concerns. "I keep wondering if I should have even come here. If he sees me in Jacaster, he'll definitely think I'm stalking him and hate me even more..." "Don't put yourself down," Isla replied firmly. "Remember, you're the one my mother and I have chosen to be the future daughter-in-law of the Wilson family. As for that vixen, Fay? I won't let her be with my brother."

Isla made a quick call, instructing

someone to retrieve the surveillance

footage from the airport. She had

them extract the clip showing

two of them leaving hand in hand.

Once she received the footage, she

sent it anonymously to Zephyr's phone.

In the morning, Lenora rubbed her eyes and turned her head, only to find the space beside her empty. Both Zachary and Harrietta were gone.

Lenora stretched lazily, reaching for her phone on the bedside table. A quick glance revealed it was already past eight.

"You're awake?" Zachary's voice

came from the doorway as he

pushed it open, already dressed. He

strode over and sat down by the bed, gazing at her. "I'll drop Hattie off at kindergarten. Remember to have breakfast when you get up.

"Okay."

Their gazes met, and for some reason, Lenora felt a bit embarrassed. She retreated into the warmth of her blanket.

Zachary chuckled, leaning in closer, his voice dropping to a whisper. "You won't be able to escape tonight."

Lenora felt her cheeks flush as she nudged him. "Hurry and take Hattie to school."

After Zachary left, Lenora lingered in bed for a little longer. Eventually, she got up to have breakfast. Once done, she headed to the garage to pick a car and drove off to meet Sophia.

The summers in Jacaster were scorching. Mornings held a hint of coolness, but by the time it was just past nine, the heat would already begin to climb. No one would want to be out on the streets in such sweltering conditions. Lenora and Sophia made their way to the mall, where the air conditioning was set to full blast, providing a refreshing escape from the oppressive heat outside.

"Isla, look. Isn't that Fay?" Not far away, Alice pointed in a certain direction. "Is that her friend next to her?"

Isla followed Alice's gaze and saw Lenora and Sophia. Frowning, she was suddenly struck with a realization.

She recalled that the woman standing next to Lenora was the same one who had been with Lenora on the plane and at the Queen Valkyrie Building-the one who had made her feel utterly humiliated.

The woman she ran into at the entrance of the mall's restroom a few days ago was her, too. So she's Fay's friend? No wonder Charlton firmly rejected me after meeting that woman that day!noveldrama
