Chapter 30
Noelle quickly pieced together the events. She'd always suspected Xenia of faking her grades since one of her minions had decent results. However, this incident had never occurred in her past life.
This time, it was probably because Xenia had been so distracted by gaming that she was left with no other choice but to cheat to keep up the facade.
Still, during the college entrance exams in Noelle's past life, everyone eventually saw through Xenia's act. After all, the latter's results were even worse than Betty's.
On the contrary, Noelle had performed exceptionally well.
So, Xenia blamed Noelle for her poor performance, claiming that her presence had affected her mood.
This caused the Liddell brothers to neglect Noelle even more. Eventually, Blake proposed the two of them apply to the same community college with the excuse that they could look out for each other. This counted as Noelle's way of apologizing for jeopardizing Xenia's results.
What kind of twisted logic was that?
Still, she hadn't dared to go against her brothers demands back then. Thus, she agreed.
• Lost in these memories, Noelle snapped back to the present when Gwen burst into the classroom, yelling at Xenia. "You're the one who wanted to cheat, so why am I the one getting punished?"
Tears streaming down her face, Xenia looked up and cried, "Why are you accusing me of cheating? That note wasn't even my idea!"
"It was, so why won't you admit it? Aren't we supposed to be friends? How could you stab me in the back like that?"
Gwen was nearly hysterical. Such an incident could really affect her college entrance exams.
Xenia maintained an innocent facade as those around her scolded Gwen for making baseless
accusations.
On the inside, Xenia was unbothered since she knew that nothing would happen to her. She was confident that her teachers and classmates would always believe her.noveldrama
Gwen turned to Noelle in despair. "Now I understand how you feel. Xenia is actually a wolf in sheep's clothing!"
A mocking smile appeared on Noelle's face. She was satisfied that someone else finally
understood how she felt.
Gwen rushed over to her. "You know the truth, don't you? Xenia's grades were never that
good. And I'm the one who has been doing her homework this entire
She continued, "We take our papers in the same room. You must have seen what happened since you walked past our classroom after handing in your papers early. Be my witness and explain things to our teacher!" Gwen was certain that Noelle could help her. After all, she and Xenia had always been at odds.
Xenia frowned, uncertain if Noelle knew the truth.
However, Noelle brushed Gwen's hand away coolly, "Everyone knows what kind of person Xenia is. How could you accuse her without any evidence?"
Gwen immediately paled. She hadn't expected Noelle to take Xenia's side.
Noelle remained indifferent. She was no saint. She had no intention of helping someone who had spread countless hurtful rumors about her in her past life. It was time for Gwen to taste her own medicine. Xenia immediately relaxed after hearing Noelle's words.
With a pitiful look, Xenia said, "I can't just stand by and watch my friend make a mistake. I'm sure our teachers will forgive you if you admit your wrongdoings and apologize."
Betty chimed in, "Xenia's right. You can't just go around accusing people like that."
Gwen turned to Betty and sneered, "Mark my words. What's happened to me will soon happen to you as well."
Betty looked uneasy. "Nonsense. You tried to cheat and got caught. You can't expect Xenia to lie for you."
Gwen raised her voice. "Xenia, did you really think that I don't have any evidence? I'm going this top student to expose the truth about your fake grades. Let's see how long you can keep up this top act!" Xenia immediately paled. She wondered if Gwen had lost her mind.
Just then, their homeroom teacher entered the room. "Gwen, what proof do you have?"
"There's proof on my phone that I've completed all of Xenia's homework. And during the exam, Noelle happened to walk by when I was passing the note, so she must have seen it."
Lionel turned to Noelle and asked, "Is that true?"
Noelle paused to think about it. In truth, she hadn't been paying much attention. She could only recall Xenia glancing back.
A
great opportunity had just been handed to her. She wondered if Xenia would be screwed if she claimed to have seen it.
What do you think?
