Chapter 530
After leaning on each other for so long, she had come to see Mrs. Thompson almost like a daughter, naturally wishing for her happiness above all else.
"Go on, I've got things covered here. Take your time to get ready, and don't worry about coming home late tonight, or even at all!"
Selena: "............"
Flustered by the teasing, she couldn't sit still any longer. After giving her son a quick kiss, she got up and headed to her room.
After showering and drying her hair, Selena stood in front of her closet, hesitating over a shirt and jeans for a few seconds before finally turning to her collection of beautiful dresses.
If she had decided to give this a chance, then she ought to treat it with the seriousness it deserved.

Knowing Callum liked blue, she picked out a deep blue gown that elegantly showed off her delicate ankles, pairing it with silver high heels, making her look like a mermaid emerging from the sea.
But just as she stepped out the door, she spotted a black Bentley parked outside, and leaning against it was Everett.
A cigarette dangled between his fingers, its glowing tip standing out starkly against the night.
His gaze lifted, lingering on her refined features before openly scanning her from head to toe.
His eyes were intense, hiding a sharp, cold glint.
Selena's grip on her purse tightened unconsciously, her heart pounding in her chest.
Instinct told her that his presence here tonight was nothing good.
"Dressed up so beautifully, heading out for a date?"
Everett was the first to speak, "With Callum?"
His voice was casual, betraying no emotion.
But despite her calm exterior, Selena felt a chill creep up her spine, goosebumps rising on her arms. Just then, her ride pulled up.
Ignoring him, she treated him like he was just part of the scenery and walked straight to the car.
But in the next moment, her wrist was snatched, and she was pulled back in front of him.
He looked down at her, his tone dripping with sarcasm.
"I have something to say! It might cut into your date time a bit."
Selena frowned, "I've got nothing to say to you!"
She tried to yank her hand free.
Everett, acting as if he didn't hear her, continued, "This conversation might get a little heated. Do you want to have it here, or should we head inside?" Anger flickered in Selena's eyes.
Though he seemed to give her a choice, he was determined to have his way.
Brook's house was nothing like the expansive Bennett Estate, just a modest single-family home with close neighbors, all part of the same social circle. Having a scene with him outside would only fuel rumors.
After weighing her options, Selena swallowed her pride and turned to open the door.
She planned to talk with Everett in the living room, but as soon as he entered, he strode upstairs like he owned the place.
A shiver ran through her.
Was his interest not just in her but also in her child?
Without another thought, she quickly followed him upstairs.
Everett, familiar with the layout, walked straight into Selena's room, probably assuming the child would be there. With a frown, she followed, determined to get him out.
But as soon as she stepped in, Everett's arms wrapped around her slender waist, pulling her in
forcefully, and with a loud bang, the bedroom door shut behind them.
Once again, she found herself pinned against the door, trapped within his embrace.
