Luna Aurora novel (Alpha Fenrir)

Luna Aurora 24

Arianna leaned against the balcony railing of the pack house, her gaze fixed on the distant tree line. Below, the pack grounds buzzed with activity as wolves prepared for the Alpha's departure. She smirked to herself, the sight stirring a mix of irritation and satisfaction. "Going to retrieve his precious Luna," she murmured under her breath. "How predictable."

Behind her, a soft knock sounded at the door. She turned to see one of her loyal allies-a lean wolf with sharp eyes and a knack for gathering information-enter the room.

"What do you have for me?" Arianna asked, her tone clipped.

The wolf hesitated, then handed her a rolled-up parchment. "Nathan's scouts have confirmed Aurora's location. She's with Cassian's pack, as you suspected. But there's more."

Arianna unfurled the parchment, scanning the hastily scribbled report. Her eyes narrowed as she read. "Pregnant," she whispered, her lips curling into a cold smile. "So, the little mouse has been hiding quite the secret."

She rolled the parchment back up, tossing it onto the desk. "And Fenrir doesn't know?"

The wolf shook his head. "No, my lady. Not yet."

"Good," Arianna said, her voice dripping with malice. "I'll deal with her before he has the chance. If Aurora's carrying his heirs, then she's more of a threat than I thought."

The wolf hesitated. "If you act against her, it might expose your... position."

Arianna turned sharply, her eyes glinting with menace. "I don't need your advice. Just make sure Fenrir doesn't realize I've left until it's too late."

The wolf bowed and exited quickly, leaving Arianna to her scheming.

She paced the room, her mind racing. Aurora's pregnancy complicated things, but it also gave her an edge. If she could eliminate Aurora and her unborn pups, she would secure her place as Fenrir's Luna-and ensure that no one questioned her position again.

The northern forests were quiet as Fenrir and his trackers moved through the dense underbrush. Nathan led the group, his sharp senses guiding them toward Cassian's territory. The air was heavy with the scent of pine and damp earth, but underneath it lingered something else-something familiar.

"She's close," Nathan said, his voice low.

Fenrir nodded, his jaw set. "We keep moving. No stopping until we reach their borders."

Nathan hesitated. "Alpha, if Cassian's pack discovers us before we reach her, it could escalate into a conflict. Are you prepared for that?" Fenrir's eyes narrowed. "I didn't come here to fight. I came to bring Aurora back. If Cassian values his pack, he won't stand in my way." Nathan said nothing, though his unease was clear.

As they continued their journey, Fenrir's thoughts churned. The memory of Aurora's soft voice and steady presence haunted him, a stark contrast to the chaos Arianna had brought into his life. He had told himself he didn't need her, that his decision to let her go was for the best.

But now, as the distance between them closed, he couldn't deny the truth: he wanted her back, no matter the cost.
