Be Your Lover Forever (Alicia)

Chapter 1216

For various reasons, Mr. Bowles favored Kayden. Though so, Willy was well aware of the fact that Mr. Bowles had always treated him well. At that moment, clasping the old man's dried-up hands, Willy felt somewhat unpleasant.

"Grandpa, I will work hard!"

"Hmm, as always!" Mr. Bowles gave him a sidelong glance and poked the back of his hand. "You do work hard, but I don't see any outcome. You're the same as Kayden!"noveldrama

"By the way, I haven't seen Kayden for a long time. Where is he?" Frankly speaking, Willy was not close to him, but he had no choice but to do so! "Don't change the topic! The good- for- nothing went to check on the sports cars! It's either women or cars! I have three grandsons, but I can't count on any of them!"

Sensing how the situation was taking a turn for the worse, Alfred hurriedly chimed in, "Dad, don't worry. We've been looking out for him! Young people nowadays marry late..."

"That's right. It's rare for our family to get together. Let's not talk about this. Shall we call Kayden back for dinner? With you keeping an eye on the two of them, they will surely be more sensible in the future in speeding up their progress!"

The two of them tried to smooth things over, temporarily easing the atmosphere.

Alfred sent his men to rush Kayden home, whereas Willy took the opportunity to take a shower and change his clothes. That evening, the family had dinner in a seemingly harmonious atmosphere.

After the meal, the family gathered in the yard for a simple exercise. It didn't matter whether they conversed, had a game of football, or were indulged in their phones, Willy and Kayden did not communicate the slightest, one thing was the fact that they weren't close, the other being the fact that they got on each other's nerves. That accounted for the reason why they were distant.

Although the two of them were biologically related, they had always gotten along with each other as if they were strangers. There wasn't any conflict, nor was there any interaction as they got on with their own lives.

After taking a stroll, Mr. Bowles returned to the door and was met with the scene of one of them holding a mobile phone while the other kicked a ball. He coughed.

"Grandpa!"

In unison, the two of them got on their feet and surrounded him. Both of them were very respectful and filial to the old man. That was what Mr. Bowles was most satisfied with.

"Hmm. I was so engrossed in enjoying the dinner that I forgot to announce an important issue!"

"Dad, it's cold outside. Let's talk about it tomorrow! It's late. Let me support you to your bedroom to get some rest!"

As soon as Alfred spoke, Mr. Bowles waved his dismissive hand and pointed his cane to the living room. The group then proceeded to return to the hall. As Vanessa served supper, the family settled down on the sofa once more.

Before he could savor his supper, Mr. Bowles noticed Kayden standing up with his mobile phone in hand. He set the bowl on the table and called out to him, "Kayden! No matter what important stuff there is, leave it aside for the time being! I have something to announce!"

"Grandpa, why are you in such a hurry? Aren't you anxious for a grandson? I'll have to work hard!"

In a frivolous manner, he had already left the sofa as he spoke!

Getting up on his feet, Mr. Bowles swept the ceramics on the table with his cane, sending them crashing onto the floor with a loud bang. "Didn't you hear me? Since Mark isn't here yet, you're not allowed to leave!"

In an instant, everyone focused their gazes on him. "Dad?"

"Grandpa?"

Could it be the half-retired lawyer Mr. Bowles had always turned to for legal matters? Except for a will arrangement, no one could think of another reason why he would

instruct the lawyer, Mark Claire et

rush over in the middle of the night! Mr. Bowles was, however, in a healthy state. Perhaps since he had experienced military training when he was younger, he had always maintained disciplined routine habits. Although his vision and hearing had long blurred, he did not suffer from any serious illnesses!

Everyone was stunned by the sudden change.

They had initially thought that Mr. Bowles was saying it all for fun, but less than ten minutes later, Mark emerged at the door with his briefcase.

"At my age, I'm dying. I could perish any second! I should be living a peaceful life and dismissing myself from all worldly affairs! In fact, I'm here for one thing!"

After glancing at the lawyer, Mr. Bowles' gaze swept past the room before he began to say.

"The Bowles family is a respectable

and affluent family with no lack of outstanding descendants, but it was not a smooth process either. You have all achieved success, and now that you' re developing very well, I'm pleased and should leave it all to you, the younger generation. I have gone through hardships, and I s

say that I've lived my life ELE

fullest. Speaking of regrets, the only regret in my life, except for Edward' storn marriage, is probably the fact that I do not have a daughter or a granddaughter. Our Bowles family is in contrast with many wealthy and powerful families, and that is why I don't want to witness similar regrets in my grandsons'generation. Jayden followed in his father's footsteps by choosing to work for the government, but I can do nothing about it. The best I can do is to hope that his marriage will not turn out to be like Edward's. As for Kayden and Willy, I devoutly hope that you two can emulate Alfred and Vanessa's loving marriage and live happily ever after!"

"Dad..."

Alfred and Vanessa called out in unison, signing with great emotions.

Waving his hand, Mr. Bowles stopped them before he went on to say.

"Although Kayden grew up by my side, I have always regarded all my grandsons equally! Today, since Mark is present, he can be considered my witness! All the stocks and assets under my name will be divided into three portions; gifting one to each of my three grandsons. As for the six real estates, each of them will receive a set. I will be living in one of the remaining three sets, and my two sons will each get a set as well. For the two sons, I have made a specific note with Mark that the property's ownership will be handed over. As for the three grandsons..."

After a pause, Mr. Bowles declared.

"I'll give you a year. If you can get married within a year, you can inherit 20% of your designated property. With children, you can inherit the remaining properties. For those who have a stable relationship throughout three years without children, you can inherit 80% of it. Or else, I'll donate all your property to charity if you fail to achieve your goals within the deadline!"

The implication was that if one was not married and was sterile within three years, he would have to give up all rights of inheritance to the properties

of Bowles family.

The next second, Kayden's expression changed drastically. Enraged, he questioned, "What?"

"Grandpa, how can this be? You're forcing us into marriage!"

Kayden had thought that more than half of Mr.Bowles' properties would be his! All those years, he had always been the one accompanying by Mr. Bowles' side and had always been filial to him. What right did Willy have to share it all with him? Right then, Willy owned a larger portion of Centurion's property, which he did not own the slightest! It was unfair!

Obviously, he was not convinced.

"How can this not be? Don't feel wronged. You yourself know how much you've messed up all these years. If you want to make a fuss about it, I'm afraid you won't be distributed a single share! When it comes to talent, do think about it carefully, yet you're here making a scene..."

Although they were several generations apart, Kayden had the nerves to make a scene! Rolling his eyes at him, Mr. Bowles added. "That's settled! In the future, anyone who intends to be the head of the Luther family and desires to stay under my halo will have to get married and have children! Whoever first gifts me a great-granddaughter, I will reward all my property to her! Hmph! A bunch of good-for-nothings!" Getting up, supporting against his cane, a thought crossed his mind as Mr. Bowles turned around to warn, "Don't try to use all those medical approaches. Get a proper marriage! Never disgrace the family!"

To raise a well-mannered child in a broken family was one hell of a tough job!

Mr. Bowles' eyes swept past Kayden as he shook his head without realizing it. He then turned around and strode away.
